C1 Energy (Guangzhou) -- Jul 21, 2010-- Sinopec and Rizhao Port Group in Shandong are likely to begin operation of a joint-venture 300,000-DWT jetty for crude in Lanshan District's Beigang, according to a source with Rizhao Port Group.
"The construction of this jetty is basically completed, but inspection will take quite a long time as it is a large jetty," the source said.
C1 learned that Sinopec and Rizhao Port Group went fifty-fifty on the investment of this jetty, which was estimated to cost Yuan 1.2-bil. The jetty is to cover a distance of 486 meters and is designed with 20-mil mt of handling capacity per year.
With this jetty on stream, Rizhao port will become Shandong's second port with a 300,000-DWT jetty, following Qingdao.
